What is Non-fiction reading?
Non-fiction is everything that holds a truth to it. Newspapers,internet articles and textbooks, all are examples of non-fiction. When writing non-fiction, an author always adds facts and opinions. All the people, places and events are real. It's important to know 'How to read non-fiction!'
Types of Non-fiction:
1. Narrative: Narrative non-fiction writing is when someone tells a true story e.g. (biographies and autobiographies).
2. Expository: An expository non-fiction writing is piece of informative and factual work e.g. (newspaper and internet articles).
3. Persuasive: Persuasive non-fiction writing has opinions and promotes them with the help of facts.

Important parts of a non-fiction writing:
- Facts: The true information is called the fact.
- Opinions: An opinion is what a person thinks about a fact.
- Main Idea: This is what the article/paragraph/chapter is all about. It is usually the first and the last sentence.
- Details: The further explanation of the main idea is the detail.
